A propos du projet ...

Saksham Saptari project.jpg

The project supports impoverished and marginalized communities affected by floods along the Koshi river. The project foresees the setup of disaster management plans, the establishment of early warning systems, the mapping of emergency shelters, the construction of flood-resilient housing systems and elevated grain stores. Furthermore, the project works on issues related to the lack of sustainable options for livelihood for combatting food insecurity

(e.g. riverbed farming) and addresses the issues of decreasing underground water tables for agricultural farming. The project supports the development of a Local Adaptation Plan of Action (LAPA) and the declaration of two villages as “Climate Smart Villages” serving as model villages.
