About the project...
In Casamance, the effects of climate change are causing significant degradation of ecosystems, which remain the only means of subsistence for poor people in rural areas. Fluctuations in rainfall destroying crops, coastal erosion, increasing salinization impacting arable land, loss of plant diversity due to illegal logging... These threats have repercussions on the production system, thus causing migratory flows and exodus towards larger cities due to lack of economic prospects.
This project aims to develop a favorable environment to adaptation measures based on ecosystem management. Through alternative solutions to deal with climate variability and change.
The objective is to establish an agro-ecological value chain via an innovative training center. The aim is to develop sustainable jobs and responsible behavior from communities. Especially through the implementation of awareness-raising activities. But also strengthening the resilience of the socio-economic and ecological system through economic diversification, sustainable management of natural resources.
